Roll-off dumpster rental in Centerville

Centerville is about seventeen miles up Route 28 from our East Falmouth yard, Route 28 east through Mashpee and Cotuit, roughly 20 to 25 minutes off-season.

Centerville is one of the seven villages of Barnstable, and from where we sit it is the easy one. Thirteen miles up Route 28 through Mashpee and Cotuit, twenty-odd minutes off-season, no bridges, no rotaries, no Outer Cape crawl. That is why Centerville sees more of our same-day and next-day deliveries than almost anywhere else on the route.

It is also a genuinely different kind of place from the Lower Cape towns. Centerville is a year-round residential village of roughly ten thousand people with its own elementary school and library, not a seasonal colony that empties in September. The housing runs to postwar ranches and capes, 1970s and 80s subdivisions around Wequaquet Lake and off Old Stage Road, and a compact historic village center with older houses along Main Street. Craigville is the exception, still recognizably a summer beach community. Practically, that means our Centerville work is the ordinary business of a lived-in neighborhood: kitchen and bath remodels, roof replacements, garage and basement cleanouts, deck rebuilds, and storm work after a nor'easter takes down the pitch pine.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Centerville

Knowing a town properly is the difference between a container that fits and a truck that has to turn around.

  • Craigville Beach — The best-known beach in the village, off Craigville Beach Road, with heavy summer traffic on a narrow causeway stretch.
  • Covell's Beach — Just east of Craigville on the same road, and a good marker for the shore-side neighborhoods.
  • Four Seas Ice Cream — The South Main Street institution that has been running since the 1930s, and the village's unofficial center point.
  • Centerville Historical Museum — On Main Street in the historic district, surrounded by the oldest housing stock in the village.
  • Wequaquet Lake — The large freshwater lake at the north end of the village, ringed by dense residential streets.
  • Craigville Retreat Center — The long-running conference and retreat campus near Craigville Beach, with its own cluster of seasonal buildings.

How we reach Centerville

Route 28 is the workhorse. From our East Falmouth yard it runs east through Mashpee and Cotuit and straight into Centerville as Falmouth Road, and that is the whole trip. From the highway side, Exit 68 for Route 132 or Exit 65 for Route 149 both feed down into the village. Inside Centerville the main connectors are South Main Street, Old Stage Road, Phinney's Lane, Bumps River Road and Craigville Beach Road. Route 28 through Centerville and into Hyannis is heavily commercial and backs up in the afternoon rush all year, not just in summer, and Craigville Beach Road becomes a slow crawl on beach days. Morning deliveries move best, but the distance is short enough that we have real flexibility here.

What comes out of Centerville properties

Centerville is the most suburban place on this list, and the debris profile follows. The dominant stock is postwar: ranches, split levels, garrison colonials and expanded capes built from the 1950s through the 1980s on quarter-acre to half-acre lots with full basements, attached garages and paved driveways. Those houses are now hitting the age where the original asphalt roof, the aluminum or early vinyl siding, the 1980s kitchen and the pressure-treated deck all need replacing within a few years of each other, so we run a lot of straightforward 15 and 20 yard remodel and tear-off jobs. Full basements and garages also mean cleanouts here produce far more volume than a crawlspace cottage does. The older village center along Main Street is the exception, with genuine antique houses carrying plaster, lath and heavy framing. Craigville adds a layer of seasonal cottages on small shore lots.

Permits, placement and access in Centerville

Centerville is a village of the Town of Barnstable, so Barnstable's rules apply rather than any separate village process. Barnstable adopted an eighteen-month demolition delay bylaw in 2013, which can apply to qualifying older buildings, and the historic village center is where that most often comes into play. For containers, a private paved driveway is the simplest case and generally needs nothing from the town. Placing one in a public street, on a sidewalk or in a town parking area is a different matter and needs clearance first. Check with the Town of Barnstable for your address, and tell us what they say.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Centerville

Here is exactly what happens once you pick up the phone.

  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the box needs to sit and when you need it, and whether the property is on septic. No forms, no waiting on an email.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

We will ask what the driveway is made of. In Centerville that answer is usually asphalt over sandy fill, and it changes how we set it.

  3. 3

Delivered on boards, where you want it

The driver checks the spot, cribs the rails and sets it flat. If the street is the only option, that is a conversation with the town first.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it level with the top rail and keep the banned items out. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call and we are on it.

  5. 5

We haul it and sort it right

The load gets sorted to the MassDEP ban list before it is tipped. Keep brush separate on site and the Centerville job stays in the cheaper category.

Local answers

Dumpster rental in Centerville — common questions

Can I really get same-day delivery in Centerville?

Often, yes. You are thirteen miles from our yard on a straight Route 28 run, which puts you in the small group of places where same-day is genuinely realistic rather than a marketing line. Call early in the day, before the schedule fills, and tell us the size you need. If the truck is already committed we will tell you straight and give you a firm next-day slot instead of stringing you along.

How do I protect a paved driveway from a roll-off?

Plywood under the wheels and under the rails at the contact points, which we bring as standard. Asphalt is softest in high summer heat, so a hot August week is when a loaded container is most likely to leave impressions. We set the box straight rather than dragging it, and we keep the load balanced. If your drive is newly sealed or newly poured, tell us the date, because fresh asphalt genuinely needs curing time before it takes that kind of point load.

What size fits a Centerville basement and garage cleanout?

Most whole-basement plus garage cleanouts land on a 20 yard, and a 30 if there is a lot of furniture or an attic in the mix. Full basements in these postwar houses hold decades of accumulation, and volume rather than weight is what fills the box. Keep mattresses and textiles separate, since Massachusetts bans them from ordinary disposal, and set aside tires and appliances with refrigerant so we can handle those correctly.

Do you serve the other Barnstable villages too?

Yes. We cover Hyannis, Osterville, Cotuit, Marstons Mills, West Barnstable and Barnstable Village along with Centerville, and they are all within easy reach of the yard. Since they share one town government, the permitting answer is the same across all of them. Tell us the village and the street when you call and we will quote a flat rate that includes delivery, the rental period, the pull and disposal up to the tonnage.
